Our
Capabilities
Industry-Leading Range & Performance WITT UK Group manufactures one of the world’s most comprehensive axial flow fan ranges, delivering proven solutions for industrial ventilation since 1950. Our Yorkshire facility produces fans from 400mm to 3,150mm diameter, handling airflows up to 1,000,000 m³/h and pressures up to 4,000 Pa. With fire resistance ratings up to 700°C and efficiency levels exceeding industry standards, our axial fans serve critical applications across tunnels, metro systems, industrial processes, and emergency smoke extraction systems globally.
Engineering Excellence & Flexibility Every axial flow fan is engineered to precise specifications using advanced CFD modelling and in-house testing to AMCA and ISO 5801 standards. Our modular design philosophy offers unmatched flexibility—multiple impeller configurations fit within the same casing, allowing for system modifications without complete replacement. With adjustable blade angles at standstill and hub-to-tip ratios optimised for specific duty points, we deliver solutions that adapt to evolving operational requirements whilst maintaining peak efficiency throughout their service life.
- Volumes from 100 to 1,000,000 m³/h with pressures up to 4,000 Pa
- Temperature resistance from -40°C to +700°C for emergency applications
- ATEX certified designs for Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas
- Multi-stage configurations for high-pressure applications
- Reversible flow designs for tunnel emergency scenarios

Frequently
Asked Questions
What sizes and capacities are available for axial flow fans?
Our axial flow fans range from 400mm to 3,150mm in diameter, with airflow capacities from 100 m³/h to 1,000,000 m³/h. Pressure development reaches up to 4,000 Pa in single-stage configurations, with multi-stage designs available for higher pressure requirements. We offer various hub-to-tip ratios and blade configurations to optimise performance for specific duty points.
Can axial fans be used in hazardous environments?
Yes, we manufacture ATEX-certified axial fans for Zones 1 and 2 explosive atmospheres. These feature spark-resistant construction with naval brass linings, certified explosion-proof motors, and earthing provisions. Our designs comply with ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU and are suitable for gas groups IIA, IIB, and IIC depending on specification.
What materials and finishes are available?
Standard construction uses heavy-gauge steel casings (4-10mm) with corrosion-resistant cast aluminium impellers. Special materials include 316L stainless steel, duplex alloys, and exotic materials for extreme environments. Surface treatments range from standard primer to hot-dip galvanising, marine-grade coatings (C5-M), and specialist chemical-resistant finishes.
How do adjustable pitch blades benefit operations?
Our adjustable pitch mechanism allows blade angle modification at standstill, eliminating costly replacements when system requirements change. This feature enables fine-tuning of performance curves to match actual operating conditions, optimising efficiency and reducing energy consumption. Adjustment ranges typically span ±15 degrees, providing significant operational flexibility.
What accessories and options are available?
Standard accessories include inlet bells, protection grilles, jet cowls, flexible connections, vibration isolators, and inlet guide vanes. We also supply matched silencers, variable speed drives, monitoring systems, and control panels. Special options include swing-out designs for easy maintenance, external motor mounting, and quick-release mechanisms for rapid impeller access.
What testing and certification standards do you meet?
All fans are tested to ISO 5801 and AMCA 210 standards in our certified test facility. Fire-rated fans comply with EN 12101-3, while marine applications meet Lloyd’s Register, DNV-GL, and ABS requirements. We maintain ISO 9001:2015 quality certification with full material traceability and witnessed testing available upon request.
